Students compete at Special Olympics state competition

Doug Boyd, so., competed yesterday, Saturday, May 22, at the state competition for the Special Olympics. He competed in the softball throw after qualifying at the regional competition. He placed first in the softball throw and third in the 50 meter dash at the regional competition.

Rivalry gets even bigger

It was just a mere two years ago that an article titled McCoy’s girls was published in the Torch. A couple years later the program has totally changed. After three straight state runner-up finishes, all to West Des Moines Valley, Sean McCoy resigned from the position as girls’ head soccer coach.
