As of 3 p.m. May 6, five more seniors have signed to participate in various athletics at colleges both near and far from Iowa.

Cheyann Weinacht, sr., Max Martino, sr., Chril Hillyer, sr., Drake King, sr., and Morgan Guge, sr., were the star athletes at the most recent signing ceremony held at Kennedy Cafeteria. Weinacht is cheerleading at the University of Tulsa, Martio is shooting hoops for the UNI panthers, Hillyer is swimming at Iowa Central, Guge is playing volleyball for Kirkwood, and King is playing soccer for Iowa Central.

Guge, who plans on attending Kirkwood, is excited about playing volleyball. “I’m most looking forward to playing with the girls on the team because they’re hilarious and I love them,” Guge said. On a scale of one to ten on being excited, Guge says she is a seven.

Guge has spent the past three years of high school playing on varsity volleyball. After attending Kirkwood, which is a two-year school, Guge plans on attending University of Northern Iowa to focus more on her studies.
